It seems like the Switch version runs at 1080p at 30 fps (At least for the most part Reviews have mentioned framerate drops.

Plus the water sound effect picks up, and you obviously start going a lot faster. All things being equal, I would pick Switch, because of portability, but all things are not equal, and I want to make an informed decision. The gameplay pushes you to hunt down the resources to make weapons. I've also noticed the game gives you a big white wake if you've got your sail trimmed correctly, even a little before you start moving, so you know you've got it. You build a boat, find food, and become Windbound to find the towers beacons on each island.
#WINDBOUND SWITCH AMAZON HOW TO#
The diagram in the "Sail trim" post will show you how to set your sail to go as fast as possible. This is why it's even possible to sail in that direction. The shape of your sail acts like an airplane wing, and the area of low pressure created just in front of the bulging part of your sail actually sucks your sail forward. However, if you're sailing more towards the wind than away from it, it's not pushing, but rather pulling.

Then turn through the wind quickly to get on a ~30-degree-off heading in the other direction, and do this again and again as you zig-zag towards your upwind destination. Review code used, with special thanks to Joshua from Koch Media UK.

(The picture in the Tacking post makes this clear). If you want to sail directly upwind therefore, you want to tighten your sail as much as possible, and sail on a heading that's about 30 degrees off to one side or the other from the wind direction.Thrown from your boat, at the mercy of the turbulent waters, you are tossed on to the shores of the Forbidden. It's impossible to sail directly into the wind. As Kara, you are a warrior, caught at sea in a fierce storm, adrift from your tribe. Windbound (Switch eShop) first released 28th Aug 2020, developed by 5 Lives Studios and published by Koch Media.
